The Museum internship and docent programme was begun as a way to get young students and professionals interested in the work of the Museum, its functioning and activities. Through this outreach programme we hope to inspire a whole new demographic in the history and culture of the past. By being involved in the Museum, they become ambassadors who aid in our outreach, bringing in new audiences

There are Currently, 5 undergraduate students work with the Museum team, they help plan and conduct workshops for adults, schools, colleges and NGO’s, as well as free family activities . “I’ve been fascinated by museums and always wanted to work in one. My favourite experience at the BDL has been working on different workshops with kids, such as silver work, puppetry and mapping. There is so much to learn when you interact with children. I have not only helped with various tasks, but absorbed numerous ideas and built up my confidence. I feel like Indiana Jones where each turn is a new discovery waiting to happen!”
